looking for

The Director of Media Strategy will deliver market leading insights and integrated paid media strategies for a key federal agency account. The right candidate will have a blend of data-minded research capabilities, a deep understanding of full funnel media planning, and a strong focus on digital and offline channels, programmatic platforms, and data analytics. You will be responsible for leading media strategies, working closely with client, creative, brand strategy, and account teams. This position will report to our SVP of Marketing Strategy, and work closely with our Director of Digital Media, planner/buyers, and broader media team to lead the planning and execution of paid campaigns including client discovery, market research, media strategy, campaign management, and reporting.  

What you will do:

  • Develop, own, and oversee full funnel media strategies as the primary media POC. 
  • Work closely with the client to build a strong understanding of their marketing and communications objectives, data sets, and target audiences and develop insightful strategies that deliver results. 
  • Propose, present, and manage campaign strategies with a mix of digital and traditional media, from awareness to conversion.
  • Work with an internal team of programmatic specialists, media buyers, and analysts, with close coordination with creative and account teams to manage all phases of the process, from planning and execution to optimizations and reporting. 
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement, including bringing new ideas to the table to maximize campaign performance and team efficiency. 

Experience you need:

  • 7+ years of media strategy experience. Agency experience is required, and advertising experience for a federal or state government client is preferred.   
  • Full funnel media strategy development, working with annual budgets from $6-$15M+, on platforms including display, native, paid social, paid search, OLV/OTT/CTV, digital/broadcast audio, OOH, and more.  
  • Digital-first thinking, and a strong understanding of audience research methods and tools, programmatic platforms, media technologies, performance analytics, and conversion tracking. 
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with ability to work directly with clients and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage to deadlines.
  • Defining the customer journey, develop strategic marketing communication plans, and actively participate in its implementation.
  • Presenting agency recommendations to clients, and respond and revise as needed based on feedback.
  • Ability to provide clear and logical direction for internal teams to execute upon campaigns.
  • Monitoring campaign performance, present results and insights to clients, and make recommendations for optimization.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to pass a Public Trust Security Clearance.
